I am doing my thesis on how second language learners acquire a ‘target -like accent’. I seek to answer the following research questions : 1. Does the age when people begin learning language affect their accent? 2.In cases of later exposure to the second language,do psychological factors like motivation play a major role in acquisition of a ‘target-like’ accent?
The methodology I am using to using is a semi-structured interview mainly based on motivational themes so motivation is a major theme in my thesis. I would like the writer to use articles not more than 10 years old and only scholarly journals, like TESOL Quarterly journals.
